How to turn your wounds into wealth

(Watch on YouTube)

Alright, mate.

If you’re an emotionally sensitive man who didn’t have the best start in life—one who can read emotions deeply, feel things intensely, and see the world in ways others don’t—you might think this is a burden.

And in many ways, it can be.

But what if your wounding is actually the thing that will set you free?

What if, instead of being a curse, your sensitivity and lived experiences could become your greatest asset?

I’m telling you from experience—this is possible.

My Story

I still struggle with CPTSD.

My past is filled with deep trauma.

I’ve been in and out of therapy for years.

I grew up with an alcoholic father, endured relentless anxiety, and was bullied as an emotionally sensitive kid.

For most of my life, my mind has been a difficult place to exist in.

And yet, in December, I made almost $13,000 from my YouTube channel—the same one you’re watching right now.

Not by selling a gimmick. Not by pretending to be someone I’m not.

But by helping men with the exact problems I’ve been through:

  • People-pleasing

  • Nice Guy Syndrome

  • Toxic relationships

  • Low self-esteem

  • Emotional struggles

Being a people-pleasing nice guy meant that I went through a couple of emotionally toxic relationships.

So I learned all about these dynamics, applied what I learned, made videos about them, and attracted clients based on that.

All the wounds I once thought made me less than—those same wounds have now become my greatest gifts.

And the world pays me well in exchange for them.

Your Inner Work Can Become Your Path to Independence

For a long time, I held off on talking about this because I didn’t feel qualified.

But the truth is, the very thing I want to share with you today is how I built a business that gives me the freedom to travel, work when I want, and make an impact on the world.

I know this might sound like another “make money online” bro video.

But I promise you, it isn’t.

If you’re the kind of person who:

Meditates, journals, and does deep inner work.

Has spent years in therapy or reading about psychology.

Thinks and feels deeply, but often struggles with self-worth.

Feels like you’ve never fully found your place in the world.

Then what I’m about to tell you is for you.

Not Therapy. Not Coaching. Just Guidance.

What I do isn’t therapy. It’s not traditional coaching either. It’s guidance.

And you don’t need a certification or years of psychology training to help people.

What matters far more than a piece of paper is lived experience.

I’ve had countless clients—paying me thousands of dollars—tell me the reason they reached out was because I’ve been through deep emotional struggles and come out the other side.

And I believe that men need this now more than ever.

Traditional therapy has its place (it has helped me massively), but in many ways, I believe it underserves men.

There are certain depths therapy rarely goes to, and there are things only another man who has walked the path can truly understand.

And if you’re concerned about hurting people, just remember that guidance isn’t about giving advice.

It’s about helping the person tap into their own inner wisdom.

But if it helps you, pursue your own training in the modalities that work for you.

If you’re the kind of man who has done the deep work on himself—if self-reflection, shadow work, and personal development are as much a part of you as your own beating heart—then you may even feel a responsibility to share that gift.

You’re More Ready Than You Think

Maybe you think, “I haven’t solved enough of my own problems to guide anyone else.”

Good news: You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You’ve likely overcome far more than you give yourself credit for.

And even if you’re still in the trenches, if you get serious about solving your own problems and start sharing what you’re learning in public, in a few years, you could have a full roster of clients who love working with you.

Let me show you how I got started, so you can see how possible this is for you.

How I Turned My Wounds Into My Work

I started making YouTube videos in 2016.

I had no clue what I was doing. I just knew that I loved meditation, mindfulness, and personal growth.

And deep down, I wanted to find my people.

A part of me liked being the center of attention, so I hit record and put myself out there.

My videos were bad. I rambled. I didn’t script. I had no direction. But I kept going.

And then, out of nowhere, people started reaching out.

At first, I didn’t charge. I wasn’t sure if I had anything valuable to offer. I didn’t have a coaching certification. (By the way, I still don’t—and I have no plans of getting one.)

But people kept coming. So I started charging $30 an hour. Then $50. Then $100.

Eventually, I realized that single sessions weren’t cutting it—they didn’t promise real transformation.

So I built a structured package and started charging $1,200 for 12 sessions.

And guess what? People signed up faster than when I was offering single sessions.

Why?

Because people don’t buy guidance. They invest in their own transformation.

As my skills improved, I raised my rates to $2,500–$3,600 for a 12-week package.

Then, last December, one of my videos went semi-viral. Within one week, I signed up four high-ticket clients from that single video.

All of them were men I loved working with, on problems I had personally overcome.

Your Wounds Are Your Superpower—Use Them

I’m telling you this because I want you to know—this is possible for you too.

This is what it means to turn your wounds into gifts.

For years, I thought I was a fraud because I carried the weight of my past.

But over time, I realized that it was my raw vulnerability and authenticity that attracted clients—not some illusion of perfection.

And I’m telling you the same thing.

Start Creating in Public

Go through your past.

Identify what you’ve been through and what you’ve learned.

Look at the problems you’re still working on and share them in public.

Right now, men need help.

We’re all out here lone-wolfing it.

And I see this desire in many of my clients—they want to do what I do, but they haven’t given themselves permission yet.

So here it is: Consider this your permission.

If you want to make good money, serve the world, and turn your shadow work into financial freedom, then for God’s sake—stop procrastinating.

You have work to do.

You are needed.

I’ll break down the specifics in future videos, but for now—just start.

Speak to the previous version of yourself.

Share your journey.

Value authenticity above everything else.

Pursue mastery in your communication.

Learn the art of integrity-based marketing.

And watch what happens.

Because your wounds?

They are the very thing that will set you free—if you let them.

Stay courageous,

Oliver
